Consultation is $50. Upon booking of the areola tattoo/repigmentation service, $25 will be applied towards your service.

Experiencing a mastectomy and/or breast reconstruction is not only traumatic physically but can also cause lasting mental effects. Medical advances have made it possible to restore breasts in many cases; however, most often, doctors are unable to restore the nipple or areola. If you have been cleared by your doctor, post surgery, you may be a candidate for a unilateral or bilateral areola and nipple tattoo. This service requires a consultation prior to booking. Consultations for this service are provided free of charge. 

A 3D areola/nipple simulation tattoo is a type of paramedical tattoo that is designed to create the appearance of a three-dimensional nipple and areola on the breast. This type of tattoo is commonly used to enhance the appearance of a breast that has undergone breast reconstruction surgery after a mastectomy, or for individuals who have naturally light or non-existent areolas, but can be done for other reasons. For women and men who have undergone breast surgery, mastectomy, or top surgery this service can be the final step in their brave and emotional journey. In addition to restoring your nipples and breasts to their natural beauty, this procedure can also give you a more positive outlook on yourself and your body. This service is also available to individuals who would just like to augment their natural areola shape and/or color.

The tattoo is created using specialized techniques and pigments to create the appearance of a realistic nipple and areola. Shading and highlights are added to create the appearance of depth and texture, giving the tattoo a natural and lifelike appearance.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR A 3D AREOLA/NIPPLE SIMULATION TATTOO?

You are a candidate for this tattoo if you –

• Have completed all breast reconstructive surgeries
• Have been cleared by your doctor to receive the tattoo (typically 3-4 months post surgery)
• Are at least 1  year past any chemotherapy treatments

The Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 (WHCRA) is a federal law that provides protections to patients who choose to have breast reconstruction in connection with a mastectomy. If WHCRA applies to you and you are receiving benefits in connection with a mastectomy and you elect breast reconstruction, coverage must be provided for:

• All stages of reconstruction of the breast on which the mastectomy has been performed.
• Surgery and reconstruction of the other breast to produce a symmetrical appearance; and
• Prostheses and treatment of physical complications of all stages of the mastectomy, including lymphedema.

This law applies to two different types of coverage:

1. Group health plans (provided by an employer or union).
2. Individual health insurance policies (not based on employment).
